I am an experienced designer, with over 15 years of specialization in the world of visual and written communication.

Effective design requires successful problem solving

Good design offers creative solutions to organize and present information in a way that is visually appealing and easily understood by its intended audience. My objective is to communicate in the clearest, most efficient, and most effective way possible.

My background and skill sets are in print design, web design, editing, proofreading, research, writing, and photography. Creating visual and written order out of information chaos is satisfying work for me, and an end result that successfully communicates is a job well done. When I’m not working I enjoy time with family and friends, and I love being outdoors. Hiking, camping, swimming, kayaking, and photography are some of my favorite activities.

Graphic Designer and Marketing Coordinator

Prepared proposals for infrastructure and consulting-related opportunities as part of a marketing team. Wrote, edited, and proofread marketing proposal content. Developed and coordinated graphics and images and designed layouts. Managed multiple concurrent proposals and activities including assembling an internal team, scheduling and facilitating milestone review meetings, directing and assuring follow-up actions, and producing final submittals to meet deadlines. Evaluated technical content to ensure Request for Proposal requirements and evaluation criteria were met and the proposal was compliant.

Graphic Designer, Editor, Writer, and Web Designer

Designed magazines, booklets, and flyers, as well as original ads and ads based on written or verbal instructions from clients. Responsible for running a large in-house printer that folded, saddle stitched, and trimmed magazines. As the magazine editor, I proofread and edited articles submitted by other writers for length, quality, and content. I also researched and wrote informative articles myself for the magazine. I built the company website with HTML, CSS, and PHP and maintained it with regular updates and interactive content such as surveys and social media. I later rebuilt the website on WordPress.
